More playing catch-up

Sunday the 23rd was my 26th Birthday, so we went out and had some drinks, and alittle dancing. It was fun because my friends Jimmy and Brent had friends from high school out here from Kentucky. Good times were had by all and so far I don't feel too much older. That is it for now. I would write more, but refiguring out how to post the pics into a post that is written in took me forever this morning, so I am out of here. I'll leave you with a pic of one of my new favorite house designs, (I just started looking into architecture and the different genres,) it is a Mies van der Rohe home called the Farnsworth house after the woman who commissioned it. Simple modernist design.

Behind Again

So it has been a very busy week. Let me see if I can piece it back together for you. Friday, the 14th Keith and I went to Diamond on what they called the FAM tour, which is where they give you free tickets if you are a lodging partner and sell their tickets, so that you can familiarize yourself with the hill. On Sunday, Jan 16th, I went snowboarding with my mom, my little sis Nikki, and some other kids my mom teaches. We went to Diamond Peak yet again and it was a pretty good day.
Took some pics for a few of the kids to use on their blogs and just had fun. Mom and Nikki are improving and I think they will be killing it in no time.

Catching up

So I had a little delay from the last time I posted but I will try to get caught up. On Monday I had the day off so I got up early and went to Northstar with Forest and Megan. They both work at the Star, Forest as Ski Patrol supervisor and Megan as a snowboard instructor, so that was fun because they know tons of people who work and ride there. Forest got word from one of the ski patrol dispatchers that an area, called "White Rabbit," opened that had been closed for the last two storms, so off we went in search of some powder. We had an awesome time and had some beers in the Stars' membrane structure that they have up while they are finishing contruction on the new village. Then on Tuesday I slept in a little, got up and decided to still go snowboarding, and ended up only going for a few runs. Both days it was snowing off and on so I really didn't take any pictures. This weekend being the MLK holiday I probably will only go if my Mom brings a school group up. Hopefully I can get some more pictures since it is supposed to be nice again this weekend. On Wednesday night Scotty, Sarah, Rainbow and I went to Greg and Pat's house to hit these boxes and try to learn some new tricks. We had to dig out the boxes since we got so much snow lately, and set them up. After that the session was on and we all worked on learning some new stuff. At the very end I kind of ran into a tree which didn't feel too good. That is about all that is going on lately, mainly just trying to get out and enjoy the snow. See ya'll later.

Safari, so goodie.

Yeah, cheesy title, but whatever. It looks to be working pretty well so far. Now all I need are some more good pictures. That should be easy though, I am going snowboarding tommorrow and most likely on Tuesday as well. The pictures are, from the top, the top of the ridge at Diamond Peak looking over the north end of Lake Tahoe, halfway down Diamond looking at the Crystal Quad chair, and lastly, looking out of the trees down toward the mid-mountain day lodge that is kind of behind the dead tree branches. This day, Jan 2, was good because it had snowed everyday before for three or four days and it was clear off and on all afternoon. It was alot of fun because I got to ride with my buddies, the Infamous Flick Brothers, Keith and Kyle.

Just a Test

So I just downloaded Picasa and Hello and I am going to try it out. If it works good I will update the site with some past pics from the beginning of winter.

This pic is from 1-2-05 when Keith, Kyle and I went to Diamond Peak. Posted by Hello

Still snowing

So it is @ 6:30 pm and it has been snowing ALL day today. It is awesome. Probably some of the best skiing and snowboarding I have ever seen going on right now. This might be the biggest storm I have seen here since I was in high school. We got about a foot here at Lake level, and it isn't really supposed to stop until Tuesday. At the hotel a good number of the arrivals today have already called to cancel and I don't forsee alot of people showing up today. It is amazing the crazy weather the whole world has had in the past few weeks, this snow is much needed here to fill the Lake back up.

Epic day of snowshredding.

So today was awesome, easily one of the top 5 days I have ever had snowboarding. First, I got a brand new Burton Seven board and Cartel bindings yesterday; second, we went to Diamond Peak, a mountain that I know like the back of my hand and got FREE tickets; and third, I was with my friend and co-worker, the ever improving and excited Keith. These factors, along with the fact that it had snowed a good 6 inches overnight and snowed the entire time we were there, all came together to make an incredible day of snowshredding. Unforetunately, I didn't bring my digi cam, so the good memories will just have to live on in our minds.
